Fructo-oligosaccharides (Extract of Chicory) ULTRA-FOS is a form of sugar, extracted from chicory, which is not digested by mammals. Because of this, it moves intact through the digestive tract until it reaches the large intestine or colon - the place where beneficial bacteria, sometimes called “probiotics”, such as Lactobacillus and Bifidobacterium exist. It is in the large intestine that FOS is quickly fermented by these beneficial organisms to produce VFAs (volatile fatty acids) and other compounds that give these organisms a competitive advantage over pathogenic organisms such as E. coli and Salmonella. Through this process the beneficial bacteria are stimulated, the pathogens are reduced and overall digestion is aided.

Calf Enhancer

Calf Enhancer combines viable naturally occurring microorganisms with Rumensin® (monensin), an early acting coccidiocide to optimize health in pre-weaned calves. Rumensin has been proven effective for prevention and control of coccidiosis caused by E. bovis and E. zuernii in cattle.
