A Synergistic Combination of Live Viable Microorganisms

Yeast
The live, viable, metabolically active saccharomyces cerevisiae yeast used in RumEnhance Microbials has been shown to increase milk production by 1-6 pounds in university trials. Researchers believe that yeast:

• Provide vitamins and other nutrients.
• Stimulate the growth of beneficial rumen microbes.
• Increase the number of fiber digesting microbes.
• Increase ammonia uptake and microbial protein.

Bacteria
The combination of lactic acid producing bacteria, such as lactobacillus plantarum and lactobacillus fermentum, with bacteria strains that are native to the rumen provides the highest probability of response. The reason for this synergistic effect is not known but it is theorized that they:

• Inhibit the growth of detrimental microorganisms in the forage and rumen.
• Provide beneficial substances which may promote specific rumen microbial populations.
• Provide a tonic level of lactic acid in the rumen which stimulates the lactic acid utilizing bacteria for an overall reduction of ph.
